Negative:
Depression. Gloominess. Anxiety. Darkness. Cruelty. Sadness. Neglect. Insanity. Anger. Grief. Sorrow. Frustration. Anguish. Lies. Fault. Shame. Deception. Irritation. Insult. Hate.Vengeance. Weakness. Injustice. Inferiority. Distrust. Revenge.
Have you ever told a lie?
Have you ever said something that you don't mean?
Do you cry frequently?
Have you ever stabbed your best friend on the back?
Has a friend irritated you or have you irritated somebody?
Do you think that by blaming people you can get away with it?
Have you ever tried revenge?
Have you ever thought of suicide?
Do you think that life is meaningless?
Do you feel sorry for yourself?
Have you ever felt unwanted and unloved?
Have you ever betrayed your true friends?
Have you stolen someone's lover?
Do you think that you are in the worst situation right now?
Have you hurt someone and not mean it?
...And with useful words, you can change the whole atmosphere in an instant. This is a practice I do when I'm feeling down. I'm sure most of you do it too. When you are having one of the worst days in your life, you tend to ask yourself these questions.
Negativity is just a state of mind; just an emotion. But why? Why does this linger and dwell in our mind?
I remember those days, in cartoons there was always an angel and a devil telling the person what to do. And when you were that small, you used to think that we were controlled by these two tiny creatures. Of course when the person listens to the angel, the story always ends with a happy ending. With this simple story, a kid understands that when you listen to the angel, your whole life will be filled with rainbows and butterflies, which is not very true. Our life isn't a fairytale. It isn't a cartoon like Cinderella or Snow White. It doesn't always end with happy endings.
As for myself, I brush the gloominess off. Life goes on. You can't waste your time thinking of the worst things, but instead make use of it and try to make things better. Isn't that what life is all about? :)
