I heard the clock ticking. Why can't the school bell ring any faster? Mr. Zwintcher was going through the same old math equation we did 30 minutes ago. He was discussing it over and over again, thanks to my noisy classmates.


RIINNNGGG! finally!


As soon as I got out of my seat, the class was already empty. Poor Mr. Z. He didn't even have time to tell us the homework. But oh well! I've got plenty anyway.


I hurried to my locker, went through my rubble to find my OH-SO-HEAVY textbooks. I don't normally see my friends after school. They're probably gossiping about some girl who went out with some other girl's boyfriend, or probably complaining about chips on their nails, AND probably discussing when they would go out SHOPPING.


Honestly, I find that some girls are a bunch of stereotypes. That's why I don't really bother knowing the 'LATEST' gossip about someone or counting the pimples on your face. Sometimes gossip or rumours are 'fun' or 'exciting', but I just listen and I don't add on. Especially when you don't know a person well.


I am a VERY observant person, but I don't judge. I don't tell you that your bright dress is blinding people, and I don't tell you how funny you look in blue hair. But yes. I am only human. I know that it's the INSIDE that counts ;)


When I know a person well, I don't really care what they look like. To me, you are who you are even if you were the most beautiful girl in the world, or the girl next door.


Frankly, I choose to stay away from gossip because I don't want to be a part of it. I always knew that people who gossip will be a victim of it too. Hopefully, I will remain immune to the 'gossip disease'. XD


I am a girl, caught in the middle of tomboys and barbie dolls. I LOVE computer games and I also LOVE to dress up. I HATE sports and I HATE FAKE NAILS. WHY CAN'T I JUST BE LIKE RANMA?! (anime male character that turns into a girl when splashed with cold water). It would be soooo cool. I've always wanted to BE a guy T.T

omg blue

I headed to the library as usual for my free period. My heavy footsteps broke the silence of the corridor. As I was walking, I looked out the window to admire the bright, blue sky, with cotton-like clouds surrounding it.


I opened the door to the library, and looked up. Everything was... blue.


It wasn't like any other blue... But it was an unexplainable blue. Night-blue formed the shape of his eyes, a little tinge of turquiose surrounding his pupil with sparkles of white. His stare was so sharp, it pierced me... and at the same time... I felt that I was drowning in a deep ocean of his eyes. His beautiful eyes were accompanied by heavy lashes, so perfect as if it were painted. The shining Sun made his beautifully sculptured face visible, smooth and translucent.


I didn't realize I was staring at him until he gave a smile, flashing his perfect, white teeth at me.
"Excuse me," he said, not erasing his brilliant smile. His voice was like a melody... A symphony.


It took me a few seconds to realize that I was in his way. I looked down and my face turned red, and I got out of his way. I watched him as he walked behind me. He was swift and gentle, as if he was floating. His hazel-brown hair floated smoothly and slowly as he walked. I stared at him, hoping he would look back. But he didn't.


Was it such a long moment?... Because it felt like it.


My friend, Z, appeared behind me.
"He's off limits."
"Wha-?.."
"I saw the way you looked at him. You like him, don't you?"
Her question repeated again in my head. Usually I don't like a guy just by looking at him. I don't believe in love at first sight.
"No... Of course not. I don't..."
"Well, he's off limits."
"What do you mean?"
"You know... He's managed to catch a LOT of fishes in the pond. If you get what I mean."
"Our school doesn't have a po-... OH... I get it."


Like yeah. Of course I get it. A guy like that would definitely be admired by a lot of people. Girls... or maybe even guys.


I question myself why girls like guys over their looks. It doesn't seem right to me.


There's this new girl at school, and she's already fallen head-over-heels for this guy, A. Of course I tried to be supportive but... Honey, that's just infatuation. That isn't even CLOSE to love. You don't even know when his birthday is, or what he likes, or what he does.


I wouldn't say that I'm IN LOVE. I've never been anyway. How can you actually be IN LOVE with a guy that you don't even know?


Valentine's Day is coming up. The day when people spread a 'DISEASE' called LOVE. I must remember to stay away at all times.

I woke up, looking at the clock that was ticking beside me. 8 a.m. 7th February. Wait? Isn't it Chinese New Year?!


My cousins running around; some playing tag, while others were rushing to get their first 'red packet'. ooo angpows! I was in my Grandmother's house in Raub, Pahang. Although the house was run down, it still had it's structure and build. We celebrated the whole day and went to Penang the next day. Was a 4 hour drive but my mum OBVIOUSLY couldn't wait to arrive to see her... many siblings. The beautiful and vibrant colors were eye-catching. There was a lion dance across the street and we went to see. Amazing.


Amazing that all of this was last year.


Here I am, in Doha, not a slightest sound, no celebrations, no wishes, no angpows, no bright and colorful lights, no lion dance, no no no nothing. And the saddest thing is... GOING TO SCHOOL ON CHINESE NEW YEAR. NO ONE (except the teachers) realized that IT WAS CNY. I really miss my relatives. They must be munching down that YEE SANG and they're probably enjoying CNY without us.


I had no idea it was CNY until I received a message from Ms. Lee. Yes, Ms. Lee Hui Sen, my ex-English mentor.


Chinese New Year isn't about presents, or angpow, or food... But it's about spending time with relatives and family. To me, that's what matters the most.

Do people have a problem with me? Or do I have a problem with people?


Sometimes I wonder why I don't hang out with people here as much as I did with friends in KL. After a few months of studying in this school... I have not found a close friend yet. I know that it's not necessary to KNOW everyone or be CLOSE to everyone but it feels different especially mixing with mat salleh people. They are nice people but... There's just a lil gap in between. They aren't racist but they seem to seclude people of other races which is kind of un-nice. Maybe it's just their culture that they always mix with themselves and only themselves.


I find myself speaking more to Asian people or local people at school; they're more sociable. Just coz they're white doesn't mean i have to KOWTOW to them. They still think that USA is still the BEST country in the world without knowing what is really happening in the rest of the world. They are pretty oblivious about ASIA and they just have no idea where Japan and Korea is.


I am NOT racist. but what I am trying to say is just my opinion about mat salleh people. I am not saying that ALL of them are the same, but just some. It get's pretty annoying when a person hugs you one day and tells you how much they love you and then they ignore you the next day.


Honestly, I don't really care. Because I have my value and I won't allow people to make use of me. I am still the friendly Li-Shan, but like I said, it's not necessary to have a best friend at this point of time. Just a couple of hellos and goodbyes. And that is pretty more than enough to make my day.


I don't really expect much from anyone. You can be my friend, even if we aren't close.


I am happy =). I am happy to have a good education here. LIKE OMG things are so much simpler here hehehehe.


Making friends takes time. It doesn't need to be immediate.
