Trip to Dubai

Li-Shan in Dubai: 1-4 October

I was really psyched about going to Dubai. Everyone said it's such a great place and all. So we boarded the plane and took off!


We reached and stayed in this place called the Golden Sands 3(there's 12 Golden Sands XD). It's a service apartment and I think it's like a 3 star place.

ParPar slept alone coz we didn't want his snoring to disturb us XD

It wasn't like a glam hotel or anything. It costs a whopping DHS 860 (QR 860 and RM 860) per night and it was THE CHEAPEST WE COULD FIND. The other hotels cost about more than DHS 1000 per night. Well, it wasn't so bad. At least we had a place to sleep!

Later, we went to this place that people in Dubai said was CHINATOWN and it wasn't like ANY Chinatown I've seen before. It didn't have lanterns, it wasn't outdoor, and they didn't have people asking you to buy stuff. IT WAS A WHOLESALE MARKET FOR NOODLE'S SAKE called DRAGON MART. Like Arabs really DON'T KNOW what Chinatown really is. When they see an Asian person at one place, they just assume that its Chinatown.

And to make things worse, taxi fares are freaking expensive. For 2 trips(Going out and return), its average is like DHS 100 (QR 100 or RM100). The highways are also under construction right now, and the roads aren't really pretty :(

But anyway, ParPar bought me a necklace and I'm happy :D :D

The next day, we went to some far away place (called Ibn Maktuta or something) AND IT'S A HUGE MALL. It was separated into a few blocks:Egypt, Tunisia, India and China.

Quite disappointed with the China part coz it was so fake ;(

I'm so strong I punched my way through the boat :D :D REALLYYY!

Yah, everyone's always telling us about this amazing INDOOR SKI in Dubai. So we HAD to go and at least see how it looks like.

It was REALLY CROWDED that day and Li-Shan hates crowds ;(

I saw the indoor ski and it was full of people, mainly Arabs. They were so excited and all, probably coz they've never seen snow before always sand sand sand.

But something cheered me up!

UGHNUTS! :D :D

Rushed for dinner in this place coz they had the last roasted duck, and we've been craving for DUCK. Sadly, it wasn't that nice. Not the ASIAN nice, you know?

NEVERMIND I STILL HAVE MY DONUTS :D :D

Next day, went to this shop called Spinneys. They were selling POKKK :D:D:D

My mum was like all excited and INSISTED that we go to IKEA. Doha is so SAD coz it doesn't have one HEH

You mean "MY" home?

After that went to some mall again. Can't remember what it's called.

Clothes in Dubai are PRICEY. Everything is about DHS 100 (QR100-RM100). Don't know why everyone's so excited about it :( maybe coz they're rich XD

Well, at least I got something :)

The holiday was OKAY. My rating would be like 6/10. Dubai is a place for HARDCORE SHOPPERS and if you are not, DON'T GO.

If you're FILTHY RICH AND HAVE TONS OF MONEY, you can go to Dubai and splurge all you want and stay in the 7 star hotel, The Burj, which cost DHS 7, 000(QR 7000 or RM 7000) or more per night. You will be so happy coz everyone bows down to you and serves you because you are a VERY RICH PERSON and licks your toes if you ask them to.

OR....

If you're average and DON'T have tons of money, you can stay in a sad 3 star hotel and cry when you see a really nice top that you can't afford like me. You'll be kinda sad coz no one notices you coz they only serve and bow down to the RICH people and they won't lick your toes if you ask them to. :(

My advice to people who have heard that Dubai is a GREAT AND AWESOME country and have never been there:

1. Go in December to February. That's when the sales are on and you don't have to cry :D

2. Be rich so you can spend your money :D
